Preparation of Ti<sub>3</sub>C<sub>2</sub>T<em><sub>x</sub></em> MXene Epoxy Composite for Multifunctional Applications

MXene has been getting much attention as filler in polymer composites because of their remarkable electrical conductivity. However, achieving good dispersion of Ti3C2Tx MXene in polymer matrix remains an obstacle. Herein, we report Ti3C2Tx MXene nanocomposite overcoming these obstacles by functionalization of Ti3C2Tx which significantly enhances epoxy- Ti3C2Tx MXene interactions. An exceptional increase in EMI shielding, thermal conductivity and mechanical properties is achieved with low volume percent loading of Ti3C2Tx MXene. These findings are attributed to surface functionalization of Ti3C2Tx MXene which promotes well-connected Ti3C2Tx -epoxy network providing for next-generation electronic devices.
