<em>Nb<sub>2</sub>CT<sub>x</sub> MXene for Fast Charging Lithium Metal Batteries</em>

Lithium metal anodes are considered as ultimate replacement for lithium-ion batteries due to their 10 times high theoretical capacity and lowest potential as compared to conventional graphite. However, the dendrite formation during Li metal plating/stripping process hindered the practical application of Li-metal batteries. MXene is considered as excellent lithophilic substrates for Li metal anodes due to its 2D nanostructure, high specific surface area, high electrical conductivity, and numerous surface functional groups. Among the available MXene materials, Ti3C2Tx have attracted intensive attention due to their facile synthesis and high stability [2]. However, there is a need to employ other MXenes in lithium metal battery system. This work provides an application of Nb2CTx MXene that could deliver long cycling stability at high current density and improved coulombic efficiency.
