Polycarbonate (PC) is a widely utilized engineering plastic in various applications, prized for its versatility and thermoplastic nature, which enable it to be reprocessed. However, its mechanical properties tend to degrade after reprocessing, resulting in poor physical performance. To address this limitation, we developed polycarbonate vitrimer (PCV), which leverages dynamic bond exchange for topological rearrangement, providing a superior method for reprocessing traditional PC. Our research optimized the molar ratio between hydroxyl and carbonyl groups, achieving PCV with exceptional reprocessing capabilities, maintaining 96.8% cross-linking density after three reprocessing cycles. Additionally, the reprocessed PCV preserved its shape memory properties, highlighting its superior reprocessing performance and mechanical properties.
