Synthesis of Superhydrophobic Silica Using TEOS and HDTMS via Sol-Gel Method: Enhancing Coating Adhesion and Transparency for Solar Panel Applications

In this study, we synthesized superhydrophobic silica using a single-step sol-gel method with TEOS and HDTMS. We investigated the particle size of the modified silica based on synthesis time and aimed to resolve adhesion issues of the coating to surfaces. Furthermore, we evaluated the transparency of the coating depending on the application method and analyzed the morphology of the coated surface. The resulting durable coating, designed for solar panel applications, maintains excellent transparency. Our novel approach effectively addresses adhesion problems and demonstrates outstanding adhesion properties, making it ideal for solar panels where durability and efficiency are crucial.
