Anion exchange membranes (AEMs) have been extensively studied because they play a crucial role in determining the performance of anion exchange membrane water electrolyzers (AEMWEs). In this study poly(styrene-b-6-bromohexyl acrylate-b-styrene) with various block ratios was precisely synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization to achieve different degrees of crosslinking. Subsequently, the poly(6-bromohexyl acrylate) mid-block was reacted with a 1,3-di(4-piperidyl)propane crosslinker to prepare poly(styrene-b-6-bromohexyl acrylate-b-styrene) AEMs with varying degrees of crosslinking. Various characterizations of the AEMs were then performed to confirm the effect of crosslinking degree on their properties.
