Liquid crystal elastomers are unique materials that combine the elasticity of rubber with the anisotropic properties of liquid crystal mesogens, and have great potential in the field of smart materials due to their high actuation strain and reversible shape change ability. However, conventional cross-linked LCEs have limitations in reprogramming, reprocessing. In this study, we incorporated dynamic covalent bonds into LCE with a systematic composition, analyzed and optimized its optical, thermal, and mechanical properties, and identified its potential applications as various smart materials.
