Synthesis of MOF@MXene Nanocomposite for High Performance Portable Supercapacitors

The surge in global energy exhaustion has attracted the attention of researchers to explore robust energy storage materials. Supercapacitors have attained the exceptional importance in portable energy storage devices. There are still some bottlenecks in terms of electrochemical performance and stability of supercapacitors. Metal organic frame works (MOFs) emerged as potential materials for energy storage applications due to their extensive surface area, tunable structure, and diverse structural and functional variations. In this study, we have employed a zirconium based MOF with 2D MXene for supercapacitor applications. The as synthesized MOF and MXene composites are stabilized by MOF and MXene linkage. This linkage hindered the restacking of MXene. The as fabricated electrodes showed remarkable electrochemical performance and considerable cyclic stability. This study will be helpful to explore innovative ideas for portable and flexible energy storage devices.
