Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) adhesives are used in construction, food packaging, and medical films due to their eco-friendliness and absence of harmful substances like formaldehyde. For food and medical applications, preventing microbial contamination is crucial. EVA adhesives lose performance above their melting point, so improvements are necessary. Using the film contact method, adding the natural antimicrobial rosin achieved over 90% antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Escherichia coli. This also increased adhesive strength by over 10%. Incorporating silane-modified nano-silica enhanced silica dispersion. This research developed a durable, antimicrobial, thermoplastic EVA adhesive with improved mechanical properties and consistent performance.
