Lithium batteries currently face severe safety issues due to the formation of dendrites on the anode surface during charging, leading to performance degradation and internal short circuits. To address these problems, we investigated high-performance separators utilizing the self-assembly characteristics and nanopore structure-forming capabilities of block copolymers. In this study, we fabricated separators using PS-b-PMMA block copolymers and analyzed their properties. After forming films using the spin-coating technique, solvent vapor annealing was employed to induce the self-assembly of the block copolymers. The phase separation and nanopore structure formation of the separators were confirmed through scanning electron microscopy. The fabricated PS-b-PMMA separators were applied to coin cells for charge-discharge testing, and results showed higher stability under conditions of 0.5mA, 1.0mA, and 3.0mA compared to conventional separators.
