Acrylate materials are essential in various industries such as automotive, electronics, construction, and pharmaceuticals, and their development fields are also expanding. Functional monomers, which have acrylates or methacrylates attached to the alcohol terminals of the raw materials, are most widely used in the photo-curing fields using ultraviolet (UV) light, visible light, or electron beams (EB). Depending on the number of acrylate groups, functional monomers can be classified as monofunctional, difunctional, trifunctional, or multifunctional. In this study, we synthesized a tetrafunctional acrylate monomer using di(trimethylolpropane) and analyzed its physical properties compared to commercially used EB-40. Also, the properties of UV-curable inks incorporating the monomers will be discussed.
