As the world deals with rising temperatures due to global warming, individuals are becoming increasingly exposed to extreme weather events, making effective thermoregulation a crucial concern. Phase change materials (PCMs) have been widely used as promising thermoregulation materials since they can absorb and release large amount of thermal energy as a latent heat during phase transition. Here, we explored a facile approach to fabricate PCM containing fibers via liquid-filled fiber pulling (LFP) process. By continuously feeding the liquid-state PCM into the elastomeric polymer preform, form-stable and flexible PCM containing fiber could be obtained. The proposed PCM containing fibers show high latent heat, even maintaining properties after 100 thermal cycles. Furthermore, provided by excellent mechanical properties, fibers can be readily woven into the textile forms. As an intelligent textile, PCM containing fibers would provide feasible options for personal thermal management system with improved thermal comfort.
