Polyacrylic PSAs prepared by solution or emulsion polymerizations have a reaction time of several hours, resulting in high energy consumption, and contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) leading to increase costs for post-treatment and environmental pollution problems. To obtain eco-friendly and biocompatible adhesive, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate(2-EHA) was designed using as a soft segment for tackiness, acrylic acid(AA) as a hard segment for cohesive strength of PSAs. 2-EHA/AA were synthesized by bulk polymerization process by a radical photoinitiator under UV irradiation. Pressure-sensitive adhesives(PSAs) was formed by crosslinked networks using 1,6 hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) to modify semi-interpenetrating network structures. To obtain functional PSAs, DL-camphor or L-menthol was added to prepolymer as a cooling agent. the molecular weights of the synthesized polymer were characterized by GPC analysis. The adhesive strength of adhesive layer was confirmed by 180°peel test using UTM.
