초록

내용
Organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) are emerging devices, wherein electrolytes are adopted as a gate insulator. OECTs are promising as neuromorphic devices because they modulate the conductivity of channels through the movement of ions in the electrolyte, which is similar to the way that neurotransmitters modulate the activity of neurons. Many studies showed that the volatile memory characteristics were well emulated. However, it has been challenging for the implementation of non-volatile properties due to the volatile nature of electrolytes, leading to limited emulation of long-term plasticity (LTP), which are essential for learning and memory in artificial neural networks. Herein, we implemented OECTs with non-volatile properties by introducing ferroelectric polymers and ionic liquid. Synaptic properties such as long-term potentiation and depression were successfully emulated with excellent linearity, indicating the applicability of our strategy to neuromorphic devices.
