In electrochromic (EC) systems, dynamic color changes in response to electrical signals enable advanced applications in smart windows and electronic displays. This study present a novel approach for scalable fabrication of electrochromic hydrogel microarchitectures using a maskless lithography technique. Our method involves incorporating integrating EC molecule viologen, and ascorbic acid into a single precursor solution, followed by photopolymerization to create microarchitectures exhibiting stable and rapid electrochromic behavior through electron transfer mechanisms. Notably, we demonstrate that these polymeric microstructures, fabricated with the fine control of DMD microlithography, reveal latent electrochromic properties. As a proof of concept demonstration, we propose a scalable color encryption system using these EC microarchitectures. Our strategies offer promising avenues for enhancing the performance and functionality of electrochromic applications across various industries.
