This presentation demonstrates a new approach to achieving a high-performance yet sustainable triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) based on sulfur-rich polymer (SRP)/MXene composites. SRP is a great candidate for TENGs because elemental sulfur possesses high electron affinity and abundance from petroleum refining. Previously, we developed surface fluorinated SRP or an SRP-based blend with fluoropolymers for enhanced TENG performance but raised environmental concerns due to toxic F2 gas and PFAS. But, SRP/MXene composite-based TENG only required 0.4 wt% of MXene to achieve a record high peak power density of 3.89 W m-2, by introducing a MXene segregated structure. This TENG also can be recycled, maintaining its properties, and offering high sustainability.
