Nickel oxide (NiOx) is used as a hole transport layer (HTL) in perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) but has poor hole injection. Introducing an interlayer can enhance hole injection by tuning energy levels. This study uses carbazole-based self-assembly monolayers (SAM) as an interlayer to improve hole injection through a simple process. SAMs form a dipole acting as a hole selector and electron blocker. Green PeLEDs with modified SAM achieved over 10,000 cd/m² luminance and over 10% external quantum efficiency (EQE). Further optimization led to low turn-on voltage (2.1 V), high brightness (103,358 cd/m²), and high efficiency (9.42%). This demonstrates the potential for efficient, bright perovskite light emitters.
