Supercapacitors have been garnering increasing attention as a high-power energy storage technology. In this work, we synthesized epoxy-SiO2 hybrid ionogel polymer electrolytes (IGPEs) containing ionic liquids via thermal polymerization. The resulting IGPEs exhibited remarkably high σ of 1.5 x 10-3 S/cm at 298 K. Incorporating inorganic materials into the IGPEs enabled the achievement of both high ionic conductivity and robust mechanical properties. To evaluate the practical applicability of these IGPEs, we fabricated supercapacitor devices using the IGPE as the electrolyte and activated carbon as the electrode material. Electrochemical testing revealed that the hybrid IGPE-based supercapacitor delivered a specific capacitance 2.5 times greater than that of a supercapacitor employing an inorganic filler-free electrolyte. The flexible & highly ion-conductive nature of the developed IGPEs suggests their promising potential for advancing high-performance supercapacitor technologies.
