Chiral organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (Chiral OIHPs) have emerged as next-generation materials for spin-optoelectronic devices due to their unique spin-related properties and chemical diversity. Here, we report a new series of chiral OIHPs with the general formula (R-/S-MBA)SnX3 (MBA = methylbenzylamine, X = I, Br, Cl) for the first time. (R-/S-MBA)SnX3 crystals exhibited clear circular dichroism (CD) because the MBA transfers chirality to the [SnX6] inorganic octahedra through the asymmetric interaction between the ammonium group in MBA and the halide in the octahedra. Furthermore, negative photoconductivity, in which the current density decreases upon external photo-excitation, is observed in these crystals in air.
