To develop a novel material for effective thermal energy harvesting and reutilization, heat storage mesogen (HSM) and heat transfer reactive mesogen (HTRM) were newly synthesized. Based on thermal and scattering results, it was confirmed that HSMs have a highly ordered crystal structure and a good heat storage capacity (157.8 J/g). The phase behavior of mixtures was examined by establishing a theoretical phase diagram with DSC analysis, and the HSM-HTRM alloys (HHA) were cured at mesophase (Smectic A HTRM + Crystal HSM) state. The thermal energy management performances of HHA with high thermal conductivity (1.38 Wm-1K-1) were demonstrated using an infrared camera. The newly developed mesogen-based polymer alloys can be used as thermal energy harvesting and reutilization materials.
