Stretchable supercapacitors (SCs) have recently been gaining attention in wearable devices because they can provide high power electrical energy while maintaing a comfortable fit. Utilizing a textile substrate for stretchable SCs could be a prominent approach to improve the stretchability and breathability of wearable devices. This study presents a stretchable SC with high performance, using liquid metal printed on stretchable textile substrates as the current collector, carbon nanotubes as the active material, and a solid gel as the electrolyte. To ensure uniform coating of liquid metal and carbon nanotubes, the wetting characteristics and their electrical properties on various textile substrates are investigated. Under optimized condition, the textile-based SC exhibits excellent capacitive performance, with an areal capacitance of 527.8 mF cm-2. The physical durability and stability of the SC are also confirmed by comparing the capacitance before and after stretching cycles.
