Advanced Synchrotron-Based X-ray Characterization Studies for Next-Generation Battery Materials

This presentation will begin with the introduction of battery research using synchrotron-based X-ray techniques. Some of the examples demonstrating the successful application of synchrotron X-ray techniques will highlight the importance of studying battery materials by combining multiple techniques with complementary length sensitivities, such as the combination of hard/soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray imaging with spatial resolution. Finally, a perspective will elaborate on how synchrotron techniques can impact the development of next-generation battery chemistries.
