In the IoT era, strong security systems are essential to prevent hacking threats. To address this, we propose hardware-based security systems that utilize the inherent randomness of semiconductors. These systems harness device-to-device and temporal noise variations to ensure security. The devices are composed of ZnGa2O4 oxide nanoparticles, p-type organic material dinaphtho[2,3-b:2,3-f]-thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (DNTT), and Ti electrodes, layered sequentially on an n-Si substrate. The ZnGa2O4 nanoparticles are synthesized into varying sizes of clusters, and by mixing these clusters, we induce electrical property variations that result in random outputs in terms of device-to-device or time-noise-current variations.
