Fabrication of Battery Pouch Film through growth of Crystalline phase via Mono-axial Stretching method

Battery safety problems have been constantly proposed with the rapid growth of battery industry. Using pouch cells is one of the comportable ways to overcome safety problems from external conditions including moisture. Battery pouch films should have thermal, chemical stability, electrical insulation, and gas barrier properties. Perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFAs), one of the fluorine-based polymers, exhibit excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability because of its unique chemical structure. Highly oriented chains by uniaxial stretching under high temperature improve the various properites which is required properties for utilizing pouch film. This method uses no solvent, resulting in no waste during the process. We anticipated that the developed PFA films for battery pouch cell with aligned crystal fibrils through stretching method would be suitable for pouch cell.
