Solution-processable organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) offer significant advantages due to their cost efficiency, flexibility, and suitability for large-area device manufacturing. The performance of these OLEDs is influenced by the molecular design of the host material. Among these, polymeric hosts have been shown to exhibit good thin film-forming ability and high thermal stability. In this study, we designed a polymeric host featuring a styrene backbone, a carbazole pendant, and an alkyl spacer of varying lengths between the polymer backbone and the pendant. The alkyl chain spacer is expected to play a crucial role in determining solubility, thermal property, film morphology, and charge transport property. By synthesizing a series of polymeric hosts with varying alkyl chain lengths, we confirmed their excellent thin film-forming ability and high thermal stability. We also utilized this series of polymers to develop exciplex hosts in TADF-OLEDs and characterized their performance.
