Multiple resonance-induced thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) materials show extremely narrow emission spectra & thus high color purity. However, the reason for high color purity are unclear. In this study, we propose a mechanism for the underlying reason of color purity in MR type emitters, by introducing a new term ‘Poly-Heteroatomic Omni-Delocalization’ (PHOD), which deduces the optical origin via electronic basis. Based on PHOD, two new deep-blue color-pure emitters with unprecedented structural motifs were designed, with FWHM of 0.09 – 0.11 eV (15 – 16 nm).
