MXenes, a family of two-dimensional transition metal carbides, have gained significant attention due to their unique properties, including metallic conductivity, hydrophilicity, chemical versatility, and robust surface functional groups. Tailoring surface terminations allows for diverse applications in molecular electronics like energy storage, sensors, transistors, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. Electric mobility and future communication technology generate noxious EMI that should be mitigated. This study focuses on the application of MXene in EMI shielding by planarly stacking heterostructured films of MXene (Ti3C2) and insulating SNO (Sr2Nb3O10) layers using the Langmuir-Blodgett method. We characterized the number of SNO layers between MXene layers to investigate the multiple internal reflection of EM waves within the heterostructure. This research will elucidate these underlying mechanisms, thereby contributing to the field of EMI shielding studies.
