Structure and Environment Customization to Enhance Degradability and Depolymerizability of Polymers

Polymers require new features such as on-demand degradability and depolymerizability for a sustainable future to contribute to the circular polymer economy. Here, we discuss our ongoing efforts to make polymers more degradable and depolymerizable. Incorporating heteroatoms into the vinyl polymer backbone and combining the polymerization equilibrium with self-assembly will be discussed in detail as representative examples.
