The applications for composite materials are expanding from everyday items to aerospace components, exposing them to environmental changes. This exposure leads to fatigue, starting with microcracks and reducing material properties. Degradation affects tensile strength and fatigue life. Replacing end-of-life materials involves significant costs in reproduction, energy, and maintenance.

Researchers are inspired by nature's self-repair abilities, aiming to create self-healing materials that autonomously detect and mend defects under heat, electricity, or light. This is crucial for polymers, where damage severs covalent bonds, diminishing properties. Traditional methods cannot restore these bonds, necessitating processes that form new dynamic bonds or restore the area through polymer chain diffusion.

This presentation covers the development and application of polymers with multi-dynamic bonds, especially those with disulfide bonds, highlighting the latest research findings and trends.
