MoS2, which is used as a solid lubricant, has a layered structure, so when stress is applied, each layer slides and exerts a lubricating function. To improve the solid lubrication performance of MoS2, the laminated structure can be separated and fixed and mixed with lubricant base oil. The layer of MoS2 peeled off using that method can be coated with polydopamine (PDA) and mixed with lubricating base oil. This study investigated the exfoliation of MoS2 and their polydopamine coating.
