Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a highly versatile class of porous materials with commercial applications. Therefore, facile and rapid synthesis can be challenge since the synthesis of MOFs has usually relied heavily on solvothermal methods that require several days. In this study, we developed the rapid synthesis of an isoreticular expansion series of MOFs using microwave-assisted methods. Optimizing microwave conditions and incorporating solvents with high dielectric moments can significantly enhance heating efficiency. Additionally, by tailoring various solvent mixtures, we can effectively control solubility levels. Isoreticular expansion series MOFs, including MOF-180 and MOF-200, have been less explored. Our results demonstrate that microwave-assisted synthesis can produce high yield and good quality of crystalline MOFs while maintaining their properties. This method offers a quick and efficient alternative to traditional solvothermal techniques.
