Compatible Crystallization Protocol of Mono-Dentate Ligands Cesium-Based Red Emitting Perovskite Quantum Dots

Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) show high yields compared to bulk due to their stable phase, and bright exciton triplet states properties. Recently, research on green- and blue-emitting materials among the three primary colors has been continuously reported, but research on red-emitting materials is lacking. In this works, we designed a method to synthesize pure red-emitting PQDs by controlling the ratio of mono-dentate ligands (octylamine-oleic acid) based on DMF polar solvent. In addition, it was confirmed that PQDs were synthesized within a specific range through a plot of compatible/incompatible synthesis conditions based on the LaMer model. Among them, PQDs with high iodine content showed a QY of 76.9% and strong PL intensity. It was confirmed that no discoloration occurred even after 90 h, 88% intensity of photoluminescence was maintained, and there was almost no change in the position of the CIE coordinates. This suggests a facile synthetic strategy to obtain high-quality red PQDs.
