MXene (Mn+1XnTx) and its precursor MAX phase (Mn+1AXn) have garnered attention in various fields for their superb electrical conductivity, mechanical properties, and low density. MXene, in particular, has the advantage of being rendered in a 2D form and has been explored for applications in areas such as electronics, electromagnetics, and sensors. However, the established process of synthesizing MXene from MAX involves the use of hydrofluoric acid and large amounts of solvents. This severely reduces the scale of MXene synthesized per process, resulting in the limited scale of various studies utilizing MXene. The objective of this study is to find a way to prepare and apply MXene and MAX on a larger scale. Dry mechanical method was chosen as the strategy for processing the materials. We explore ways to expand the use of MXene and MAX so they can be incorporated as fillers in various composites, contributing to their practical application in diverse fields.
