With the trend of lightening, thinning, miniaturization, and multifunctionality of electronic devices, the issue of heat generation has become an important consideration in designing electronic devices. Heat dissipation technology for effective thermal management, especially heat dissipation paint, is a key technology to ensure the reliability of electronic devices. In general, the heat dissipation performance is improved when particles are well dispersed. However, the use of dispersants for this purpose can reduce the overall heat dissipation performance even if the dispersibility of the particles is improved. In this study, parylene coating using CVD was applied to alumina particles as a new method for improving dispersibility without the use of dispersants. Consequently, the dispersibility of the parylene-coated alumina in the PU-DMF solution was better than that of the uncoated alumina, and the thermal conductivity also improved.
