Structure Engineering of Colloidal Semiconductor Heterostructures for Light-Emitting Application

Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals as a form of heterostructure have become one of the outstanding light emitters in light-emitting applications with exceptional optical properties. The optical properties of heterostructured nanocrystals are mostly originated from their structural characteristics. For instance, ZnS shell on the InP core can effectively confine the charge carriers within the core. In addition, to enhance the photophysical properties of heterostructured nanocrystals, the interfacial engineering of heterostructured nanocrystals in an atomic manner is required. Here, I introduce my recent approaches for efficient light emitter based on the structure engineering of semiconductor heterostructures.
