In the eutectic system, two solids are mixed to form a liquid under solvent-free conditions. We easily synthesized 2D amorphous materials containing benzoquinone (BQ) and pyrrole (PY) moieties with eutectic liquid of thymol (TY) and BQ. The 2D material (BQ-PY) shows possibility of adsorption about various micropollutants such as bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenol S (BPS), and 2-naphthol (2-NO) and this network has excellent light-to-heat conversion efficiency due to conjugated structure. Additional acid doping process of BQ-PY (D-BQ-PY) enhances hydrophilicity and adsorption to micropollutants. Fabrication of D-BQ-PY photothermal membrane for removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) exhibit high VOCs rejection performance from water during a solar-driven evaporation process. This work provides a way for purifying contaminated water to remove micropollutants and VOCs.
