Crystalline porous frameworks are newly joined in the field of porous materials, exhibiting varieties of structure-property relations. Owing to their ordered structure, they have gained tremendous interest in many applications. Isotope separation by quantum-sieving has been of particular interest. Separating mixtures that consist of similar particles is one of the challenges in modern separation-technology. Especially an isotope separation is a difficult task since its shape, and thermodynamic properties share. Recently, Quantum-Sieving(QS) in confined space has received increased attention as an efficient method for isotope separation. In this presentation, the feasibility of isotope-sieves is outlined through the results obtained by high-resolution isotherms and cryo-thermal desorption spectroscopy(TDS) directly on isotope mixtures. For that, various strategies for satisfying industrial requirements are introduced by exploiting Gating/Breathing-effect or Isotope-Responsive system.
