Synthesis of Biodegradable Bottlebrush Polymer and Measurement of Viscosity and Physical Properties after Blending with Linear PLA

Bottlebrush polymers have differentiated properties that can be affected by their characteristics, such as molecular structure caused by densely grafted side chains. These densely grafted side chains of bottlebrush polymers restrict entanglement of polymers, so they exhibit different properties, especially in terms of viscosity and physical properties. While bottlebrush polymers exhibit unique properties in themselves, they also exhibit interesting properties when blended with linear polymers. In this study, we confirmed the effect of the molecular structures of bottle-brush polymers on viscosity and physical properties when blending with linear polymers, and finally synthesis cellulose-based biodegradable bottle-brush polymer to confirm its potential as a polymer additive to improve processability and physical properties.
