As demands for electric vehicle and high capacity energy system have recently increased, research on the next generation battery to replace lithium-ion battery has been steadily conducted. Now lithium metal battery is attracting much attention as next-generation battery because of their high capacity and low reduction potential, and it is possible to expand mileage. Formerly, various methods such as solid electrolyte, interfacial modification, were devised to restrain dendrite on the surface of lithium during charging/discharging, but it is necessary to fabricate lithium metal to solve fundamental problems. Therefore, I tried to use lithium metal infusion by coating dopamine on lithiophobic nickel foam. The existing research methods used materials reactive with lithium, as a result unnecessary reactions occur, accordingly the capacity would be degraded. In this study, the biggest goal was to prevent unnecessary reactions by using the unique reactivity of alkali metal and phenol.
