MXenes, the carbides, nitrides and carbonitrides of transition metals have been extensively studied for several applications such as sensors, EMI shielding, catalysis, photocatalysis and energy related applications. However, the oxidation of MXenes in aqueous environment have been identified as a crucial drawback which act as an obstacle for its practical applications in day-to-day life. In this regard, we have taken tert-butyl catechol to functionalize the surface of Ti3C2Tx through simple H-bonding and investigate its oxidative stability for long time frame. UV-vis spectroscopy has been carried out to examine the oxidative stability of the hybrid. Besides, SEM and XRD studies have been done to investigate the morphology as well as the oxidation in TI3C2Tx.
