Researchers and engineers continue to be curious in the electrical and magnetic properties of 2D materials, especially MXene. High-performance microwave absorbing materials are more suited to the integration of magnetic loss component than the pristine MXene film. Keeping in view, we demonstrated the novel MXene/Ni hybrid films with excellent EMI shielding effectiveness (SE). In a hydrothermal reaction, a film of Ni nanoparticles is decorated on the surface of MXene film with the aid of an applied static magnetic field. A 40 µm MXene/Ni film is used to achieve a superb shielding value of more than 100 dB. Interestingly, by adjusting the thickness of the Ni layer and, consequently, the magnetization of the magnetic particles on the surface of MXene, we improved the absorbance property of the composite film. In a vast class of MXene/magnetic composites, this study offers a feasible approach for designing the materials that absorb EM waves.
