Metal-semiconductor nanostructures have been the subject of great interest due to their interesting optical properties and potential applications in light harvesting, photocatalysts and photovoltaic devices. Here, we prepared organic-inorganic hybrid nanostructures of the conjugated polymer core-silver shell composite with simple emulsification method. Conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs) with a narrow band gap were used to overcome the low solar efficiency of the existing inorganic photocatalyst, and a silver shell was introduced to improve the stability of the CPN photocatalyst. The resulting hybrid nano photocatalyst showed efficient visible-light active photocatalytic activity. Also, photostability of the hybrid nanoparticles was enhanced by wrapping the surface of the conjugated polymer nanoparticles with silver.
