Ex -DDA-Dex electrolyte is prepared through the combined free radical polymerization, double networking, and anion exchange chemistries for sodium ion hybrid devices. As systematically compared with various salts of NaBF4, NaNO3, and NaSO4 used for ion exchange reactions, ex-DDA-Dex exhibited the most promising physical properties of durable strain stress (7.48 MPa).In addition, the ex-DDA-Dex hydrogel was found to have an ionic conductivity of 27.63 mS cm−1 at 25 °C and electrochemical stability of up to 2.5V. Furthermore, flexible ex-DDA-Dex sodium ion hybrid capacitors achieved a high energy density (120.03 W h kg−1 at 0.906 kW kg−1) and specific capacity (80.02 mA h g−1 at 0.5 A g−1). This device shows cycle stability of 70% over 500 cycles at 5 A g−1, and high durability at elevated bending angles.
