Organic Light-Emitting Diodes using Inorganic Halide Perovskite Hole Transporting Layer

Perovskite-based solar cells and LED have been continuously researched in recent years due to the advantages of a high extinction coefficient, high carrier mobility, and long carrier diffusion distance. However, perovskite-based LEDs still have many challenges to overcome, such as poor charge transport properties, long-term stability, and long charge carrier lifetime. In this study, perovskite nanocrystal (PNC) was used as a HTL in order to take advantage of high carrier mobility superior to organic materials while excluding perovskite disadvantages in perovskite based LEDs. As a result, a maximum EQE of 10.63% was achieved for green perovskite-organic hybrid LED with solution-processed HTL using PNC, which was similar to the EQE of 10.02% of green OLED with HTL through vacuum-deposition. Therefore, we developed a perovskite-organic hybrid LED that maintains the excellent performance of the EML and improved the mobility compared to the organic materials.
