Functionalized PVDF Terpolymers with Tunable Mechanical Properties

PVDF and PVDF-based copolymers exhibit unique thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties. However, the limited functionalization of PVDF has met limitations in its use. Many researchers have reported various studies about PVDF with tunable properties. A method for introducing double bonds in relatively mild conditions and controllable reaction using an organic base catalyst was applied for the functionalized PVDF terpolymers. To this end, we designed cross-linkable PVDF terpolymers, yielding tunable mechanical properties. We have paid our time for the optimization studies to synthesize cross-linkable PVDF terpolymers; they were applied to various strategies for varying mechanical properties. We believe that the functionalized PVDF terpolymers could replace conventional PVDF in many potential applications.
