Interfacial Assembly of Electrically Conductive Metal Ion-Polymer Complex

초록

내용
A crucial requirement for flexible electric devices is a material with excellent electrical conductivity that is also soft. However, achieving both of these properties simultaneously is difficult, as softness originates from the thermal mobility of organic materials, and electrical conductivity from metallic bonds. Metal-ligand coordination bonds construct a monolayer of metal ions at the oil/water interface to form a metal ion-polymer complex monolayer. To overcome the strong coulombic repulsion between the densely packed metal ions, polymers having an anionic ligand at the chain's end were constructed. Even at low active material concentrations, the interfacial assembly occurs spontaneously within a few seconds and demonstrates remarkable deformation recovery. Using Langmuir monolayer isotherm and grazing-incidence wide angle scattering, the in-plane lengths of metal ions are determined to be sub-nm.
