Nowadays, it is essential to develop a gas sensor that can monitor the atmospheric environment in real time, and organic gas sensors based on conjugated polymer recently have gained great interest. To overcome the low responsivity, which is a shortage of the organic gas sensors, we fabricated a poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT) by adding various amounts of additives with amine functional group. The additives with amine groups act as a non-solvent for P3HT, resulting in increased crystallinity of thin film. Although amine functional group has a electrons donating characteristic, reducing drain current in the p-type OFET, the increased crystallinity by non-solvent has a more strong impact on current level. By adding additives, tris(2-aminoethyl) amine with four amine groups, P3HT film represented the highest responsivity, response/recovery rates for NO2 gas. These results denoted the NO2 sensing performance of the organic sensor was improved depending on the amount of amine groups in the additives.
