Polymer nanostructured dielectric composites for self-powered multifunctional sensors

Polymer dielectric composites have been utilized in the self-powered wearable devices, which has been recently applied in the haptic applications. Based on the triboelectric effect and electrostatic induction, the triboelectric devices consisting of polymer dielectric composites have been developed, which exhibits poor output performances because of their poor dielectric properties. Engineering the dielectric nanostructures improve the dielectric polarization, leading to the enhancement of device performances as well as the sensitivity to the external stimuli. This work affords the rational design of polymer nanostructured dielectric composites to improve the output performances of self-powered multifunctional devices. Furthermore, novel triboelectric applications are introduced, such as highly temperature-sensitive and multidirectional sensing devices.
