Development of highly efficient and stable quantum dots is required for commercialization. Herein, we introduce organozinc halide ligand on the surface of ZnSeTe / ZnSe / ZnSeS / ZnS QDs to enhance photoluminescence quantum yield (PL QY) and improve stability. In our system, the quantum yield of the ZnSeTe QDs is enhanced to 99.0% because organozinc halide acts as a dual passivation ligand that can passivate cation and anion of the surface simultaneously. Furthermore, the modified form of QDs has significantly increased colloidal and PL stability. Unlike zinc stearate and zinc chloride, precipitation does not occur even after a long time and high PL is maintained. The aromatic part of the organozinc halide ligand prevents particle aggregation and the zinc halide part works as a dual passivation. We anticipate that the organozinc halide ligand strategy can shed light on the QLED application for industry.
