Thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU) is variously utilized in many industries because of its excellent properties such as flexibility, stretchability, resilience, etc. To make use of the advantages, in this study, TPU is used as electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding material. Since ester-type TPU(E-TPU) has better mechanical properties than ether-type TPU, it is chosen to produce the foam which has a role of the substrate in the composite. We synthesized E-TPU by blending aliphatic polyol and aromatic polyol to get the optimization condition in terms of the mechanical properties. Furthermore, composite is made by dispersing graphite or carbon nanotube(CNT) into E-TPU and by vapor induced phase separation(VIPS) method to generate pores. To verify the results of E-TPU, we carried out FT-IR, NMR, tensile testing. Also, EMI test was executed to confirm the performance of EMI shielding.
