Biodegradable polymers represented by poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL), poly(lactic acid) (PLA), and poly(glycolic acid) (PGA) are eco-friendly materials that are widely used in bio and medical applications. In this study, a biodegradable copolymer was synthesized using ring-opening polymerization and the conditions for introducing methacrylate groups at both ends were investigated. In detail, the characteristics of the synthesized polymer were investigated by utilizing the difference between using maleic acid and glycidyl methacrylate or directly using methacrylic anhydride. In addition, the physical properties of copolymers synthesized with various ratios of monomers were compared by UTM. Furthermore, curing behavior was investigated through UV irradiation and optimal curing conditions were proposed.
